Teaching Practice Week 7 (22/07/24-26/07/24)

The week began on a significant note as I completed the unit . Monday was a day of accomplishment, marking the end of our planned lessons. After weeks of engaging lessons, activities, and discussions, it was satisfying to see the students' understanding and enthusiasm grow. I distributed detailed notes to ensure that they had a comprehensive resource for revision and study. The students received these notes eagerly, expressing gratitude for the organized and clear content. This day felt like a milestone, not just in terms of finishing the syllabus but also in solidifying the bond we had formed over the weeks.

On Tuesday, I conducted the Achievement Test, a significant assessment aimed at gauging the students' understanding of the entire lessons. The students approached the test with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose, reflecting their commitment to doing well. Administering the test was a moment of reflection for me, as I considered the effectiveness of my teaching strategies and the progress the students had made. The classroom was filled with a focused energy, and it was evident that the students were eager to demonstrate their knowledge. This test was not just an evaluation of their learning but also a way for me to understand which areas needed reinforcement.

Wednesday was dedicated to reviewing the Achievement Test results. I carefully went through each student's performance, providing individual feedback and discussing the answers in detail. This feedback session was crucial for helping students understand their mistakes and learn from them. The students were receptive and engaged, asking questions and participating in the discussion. It was rewarding to see their willingness to learn and improve. The process of going through the test answers together helped clarify doubts and solidify their understanding of the material. It also highlighted the areas where my teaching could have been more effective, providing valuable insights for my future teaching endeavors.

On Thursday, I conducted a Diagnostic Test focusing on the questions that students had struggled with in the Achievement Test. This targeted approach was aimed at addressing specific areas of difficulty and reinforcing the students' understanding. The test served as both a revision tool and a way to boost their confidence in the subjects they found challenging. Alongside the test, I provided additional notes, further clarifying complex topics and offering more examples. The students appreciated this additional support, and it was gratifying to see their determination to grasp the material fully. This day emphasized the importance of continuous learning and the role of feedback in the educational process.

Friday was the final day  at GHSS Vallikeezhu, a day filled with mixed emotions. I spent the first period distributing the last set of notes and engaging the students in a review session. As the reality of it being the last day dawned on us, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of attachment and nostalgia. The students expressed their thanks and shared kind words, making the farewell even more poignant. It was hard to say goodbye to the students I had grown so fond of, and the thought of not seeing them daily was bittersweet. The bonds formed during this time were strong, and it was clear that our interactions had left a lasting impact on both sides.
